We got our second Airedale in March of 2008, after we lost

. The house was just too empty so…here comes King Henry (or simply Henry) who was a rescue from the USA.

When he got to his foster home in Indiana, he was about a year old, malnourished ( at barely 60 lbs) and suffering from ear and URT infections, as well as from diarrhea. Poor guy. In the first year, he had been through a lot. We took a chance…and.well; 6 months later…can you imagine a 74lb “snuggle dog”?
He is healthy, happy, affectionate, and a rebel of course (what else is to be expected from an Airedale?). Almost immediately upon arrival to our home, we switched Henry to RED Dog Food. Well, what a difference! His weight is well maintained at 74 lbs, there are no infections, there are no digestive issues, his teeth are clean and he is doing really well. And does he love the food? The minute he hears the fridge open, he tries to wedge half of his body in there to search for his food. If his food is being served and one of us comes home, we are totally ignored until dinner is done…well at least we know where Henry’s priorities are….!

Besides chicken, we have introduced turkey, fish, duck necks and of course a big bone to chew on. He loves it all. We wouldn’t switch back to commercial food and I don’t think Henry would either.
