"Buddy & Comet February 2009
I have just started easing Buddy's system into the new food. I will get back to you with the results. So far I am pleased with the quality and the freshness!
Buddy is on the left. As you can see his eye is turning cloudy and his coat is faded and dull.
He has had stomach problems that have resulted in Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency or EPI. His body can no longer absorb food on his own. It started almost two years ago when I noticed his eating habits were all off, vomiting up foam, not eating or leaving all his food behind. Diarrhea, gas and stomach gurgling. He was trying to tell me he could not and would not eat this commercial food, but I tried to force feed him, the same stuff but from different companies.
Then he developed gum disease. As his teeth were removed he developed even more serious problems. ravenous eating and losing weight. Each visit to the vet would only cure symptoms but no answers as to what is causing this. I tried many different brands and canned and kibble. I must have thrown out more than they have eaten.
Now I put a stop to this by actually doing the research myself. I have been unknowingly been poisioning my own dog with commercial junk food.
I assumed the vets would catch these symptoms sooner and put it together themselves. But like most Doctors human and Vets... They are not as well informed or educated about all illnesses. As of three weeks ago my dog was diagnosed with Cushing's Diease.
Again I assume doctors would assist with the feeding part of his recovery. Instead they handed me a can of dog food at $5.00 a can and told me he will have to eat this for the rest of his life. This would total up to over $3,000 dollars a year! This food is only available to vets. As I held the can in my hand and read the ingredients I was shocked and angry, by-products, I can't belive some of these things in his food is what will kill him too!
When I read your website I stumbled upon the story about the German shepard with the same eye problems. I am hoping this food will help reverse some of the effects from the comercial food.

2 week update
Buddy is starting to show progress. He is putting the weight back on but must continue with the Pancrease powder to digest his food. So far we are starting to hear him snore again! That means he is sleeping peacefullythroughthe night, and so am I.
Everytime I open another package I can see the difference immediately in the quality of the food. It smells tasty and looks fresh made. I don't have to add anything to it to get them to eat it! I save money because I don't throw any away! They eat it all up without hesitation. There is no more gassy dogs and even the waste is firm and does not produce toxic smells! I have 3 bags of dry food and a dozen cans of moist food that I will now throw out. I was going to give it to to a shelter instead of feeding it to my dogs, but I wish not dump commercial food on any dog!
